SPEAKING

Remember ‘that one speaker’ you booked? In nearly a decade of professional ministry, I have booked several speakers and performers for events.

I quickly learned the weight of responsibility and trust you have to muster as an event planner when it comes to choosing a speaker and performer. They can elevate or wreck an event in a matter of moments.

For this reason, I could spend days searching and researching the best speakers and performers for our events. I hope this page lightens that load for you a bit.

Thank you for considering me as a possible speaker for you. It means a lot more to me than you realize.

HERE IS A BIT ABOUT ME
I have been speaking and performing for more than 15 years. I have spoken all over the country at state youth conventions, college chapels, camps, retreats, conferences, concerts, and churches. I have also performed comedy and spoken word poetry for many of the same venues. I have appeared on radio programs and various web-based interviews. I have also emcee’d large conferences and conventions.

I have spent the majority of my career ministering to a strange people group called ‘College Students” and I love my vocation on staff as the College and Young Adult pastor at First Covenant Church of Sacramento.

I do not want to hoard what God has given to me. I love to go and speak to others with urgency to communicate the outrageous love of God to those who have not or cannot believe it.

WHAT PEOPLE MOST ASK ME TO SPEAK ABOUT
I speak on a few common topics, but I prefer to meet the needs you have for your event. Some of the most common topics are: pursuit of faith in college, recovery from distorted images of God, faith and our culture, faith in and through pain and hurt, faith and creativity, general topics such as grace, gospel, and faith.
I would love to chat with you about anything YOU might need.

FLATTERY
“PC is a man with an aptitude for looking head-on at the ways the church has distorted and destructively misapplied the essential message of Christ–he is also someone with a zeal to be a humble, repentant voice for reconciliation with a hurting world.”
-Stuart Erny, Director of Campus Ministries, Anderson University

“Sometimes I am with other Christians and get motivated, simply out of guilt.  This motivates me for about 1 day.  With other believers, I hear their honest struggle, but without hope.  In my conversations with PC, I hear raw authenticity, where there are no wrong questions and all are allowed.  I also hear a heart that looks beyond himself to One who loves him where he is at and woos him, without shame, to a better place.”
– Todd Davis, Counselor and Professor

“PC is a gifted communicator, taking the truth of God’s Word and applying it to the current cultural context in a way that is engaging, thought-provoking, and challenging.”
– Mark Shetler, Executive and Missions Pastor

  1. PC: I attended your seminar “on what to do when your creativity wanes”. My notes got lost. Could you send me your notes. I would appreciate it, I really enjoyed your seminar. Larry stirlen
